About Me:

A little bit about myself to increase your comfort with exploring the possibility of engaging in this collaborative journey with me: I am an experienced educator with over 10+ years in the public school system, dedicated to supporting students and families of diverse abilities and backgrounds. I hold a B.A. in Disability Studies from TMU (formerly Ryerson University) and an M.A. in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I passionately combine the wealth of my life experiences as a South Asian immigrant woman with the skills and knowledge acquired as a therapist to connect with you on a deeper level as we navigate your challenges together. I am a registered member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

My Approach:
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to nurturing healing within my clients using an anti-oppressive and intersectional lens guided by principles of cultural sensitivity, compassion, and trauma informed care, which recognizes and celebrates your unique self. This framework informs every aspect of my work, ensuring that I create an inclusive, safe, and empowering environment for you every step of the way. This framework also allows me to gain a deeper understanding of your experiences and challenges, recognize the complexity of your situation, and offer more tailored and effective support. I strive to use a client-centered approach where clients can feel their values and beliefs are respected and can openly express themselves in their preferred language. I combine evidence-based techniques from various treatment modalities to personalize each session so that therapy is suited to your unique needs. Remember, navigating challenges is not easy but achieving meaningful progress is possible. You are bigger than your problems, although it may not seem like it right now.
